Under the baton of Mr Lee Seck Chiang who turns 90 in 2020, and his protégés Mdm Tan Soh Hwa and Mr Chua Tiong Hong; Crescent Girls’ School Symphonic Band presents their 10th Limelight concert. Expect music highlights such as Persis Overture by James L. Hosay, Howl's Moving Castle by Joe Hisaishi and a medley of songs from the movie Tangled by Alan Menken.
The Band, which turns 53 this year, is guided by its Band Motto “Et Bientot le Meilleur” (The Best is Yet to Be) and always puts in their best efforts with zeal and zest to achieve what they set out to do through values and character-building. Though the Band has garnered many accolades since its establishment in 1967, from adjudications at Singapore Youth Festival, Singapore International Band Festival and National Band Competition, they will continue to make better music together and seek to share good music with others.
Apart from staging public performances and taking part in nationwide adjudications, the Band is very active and involved in a wide array of school events and functions. The Band also actively contributes back to the society by mentoring and working with primary school bands as part of their values-in-action programme.
Bringing the arts to communities in need through Limelight
Half of the ticket proceeds will go towards supporting Esplanade’s community engagement programmes that bring the arts to at-risk youth, the elderly, people with special needs, and other underserved communities.
